A Port
Ciao Amichi,I’ve got the Winter blues.
Its been so cold in Ann Arbor the last 2 weeks I haven’t had much inspiration to do anything outside of work which there’s been plenty of. I long for Spring, picnics, reading by the pool, and sun bathing. It seems so long ago since I had a day like that *sigh* …So another cold night hibernating in my apartment, a queued playlist of my Jazz favorites, and tonight’s wine….
Wine Stats:
Name: 10 Years Old Tawny
Producer: Porto Morgado
Vintage: 2004
Country: Portugal
Region: Douro
Where Purchased: Trader Joes
Price: $10.99
Recommendations:
Porto Morgado’s 10 Years Old Tawny is a cloudy ruby red port with hints of sweet vanilla, and cherry. This was the first port I’ve ever tried and I can already tell I probably won’t care much for ports. If you are new to ports like I am they are desert wines made for drinking after dinner although Porto Morgado’s 10 Years Old Twany is labeled as an aperitif. Instead of using a wine glass throw about half a cup in a 8 ball glass (or any glass you have available) and a a couple cubes of ice and its pretty bearable.
Experienced Wine Drinker (Buy/Fail): Buy **on the rocks only
Noob Wine Drinker (Buy/Fail): Buy
Wine Tip: Tawny is a yellowish brown color
