Epicuro Nero d’Avola
Short on cash I picked up a couple of cheap bottles of booze (all Italian this time). My Favorite of the bunch is Nero d'Avola.
Nero d'Avola translates to Black of Avola and is also known as Calabrese. Nero d'Avola is a grape native to Sicily as is grown around the region of the same name (Avola).
Name: Nero d'Avola
Reigon: Sicily (SE)
Where Purchased: Trader Joes
Review: Garnet, hazy, and aromatic this youthful red is a mouthful of smooth feathery tannis, and black cherry goodness I found this medium-bodied wine enjoyable down to the last drop.
Pair with fish or my favoriate a white stilton and apricot cheese which I aldo snagged from Trader Joes.
